Significance of herpetofauna conservation in preserving biodiversity of Nowogród Bobrzański quarry

This project constitutes a continuation and extension of project “Measures to optimize habitat conditions within the KSM Nowogród Bobrzański” which was carried out by another team in IV edition of QLA in 2016. After five years we want to study herpetofauna of the quarry in order to measure effectiveness of prior actions and possibly modify them. The analysis will allow carrying out evidence-based conservation actions to increase environment heterogeneity and provide good microhabitats for hibernating, basking, sheltering, mating, foraging and oviposition. This will be supplemented with photographic documentation and exhibition to promote the project, and with comprehensive biological education of local community and visitors of Natural Centre (pl. Centrum Nauki Keplera - Centrum Przyrodnicze) in Zielona Góra city.
