Land degradation is due to several factors including human pressure. Human activities lead to decreased productivity of farmland and biodiversity. It is therefore necessary to define restoration practices of these lands that restore biodiversity which makes up the main target of this project. It is about practicing agroforestry in the rehabilitation of areas already exploited by Scantogo before returning them to the original owners. The combination of Moringa oleifera and Zea mays is proposed to compensate for the sake of the non-availability of agricultural land in the locality. The objective of this project is to restore both, the degraded agricultural land and land cover. It thus contributes to achieving the 15th objective of the Sustainable Development which is to preserve and restore terrestrial ecosystems ensuring exploit them sustainably. The Project also aims to reduce the direct pressures on biodiversity and promote the sustainable land use (Strategic Goal B of the Aichi Targets). This project will allow Scantogo and the public to contribute to the reconstruction of degraded vegetation cover and have an agricultural surplus value.
