The Melbourne Arboretum shares a boundary (for over a kilometre) with the Hanson Wollert Quarry and is significantly visually impacted by the quarry. The project aims to visually integrate the quarry buffer land with the Arboretum plans to create the beginnings of a seamless transition in the landscape. The visual integration plans will be informed by an in depth investigation of local indigenous plants species with a particular focus on two topics: bird habitat corridors, and Wurundjeri bushfood plants.
